- Black★Rock Shooter was a collaboration between ryo, who created the music, and huke, who created the video and character. The song is about losing something precious, then later gaining hope to move on.
- The video appears to feature Miku clad in a black outfit wielding weapons, but it is not. Most people believe that the character, which later gained the name Black★Rock Shooter because of the song, is a fanmade version of Miku. She is actually an original character of huke's. ryo had thought she beared a striking resemblance to Miku, and asked huke if he could make a song about her using vocals by Miku. After the song's success, huke revealed other characters that are related to Black★Rock Shooter, one of which is Dead Master, who is the arch-nemesis of the main character.
Miku is the one who sung Black Rock Shooter, but she isn't BRS, cause BRS is a original character base only on Miku Hatsune(that's why some people thought she and miku is the same)....
