Plot

Kiss×sis's story begins with Keita Suminoe, a male third-year junior-high school student studying for his high school entrance exams. He is living in a home with his older twin stepsisters, Ako and Riko, who kiss, flash, and display their love for him in public, although they share no blood relation to him, and they help him prepare for his exams. Even though he initially dislikes himself for it, he begins to become attracted to his two step-sisters, and his two parents encourage him to eventually get married to one of them.

Suminoe family

Keita Suminoe (住之江 圭太, Suminoe Keita^?)

Keita is a third-year junior-high school student studying for his high school entrance exams and although he is the younger brother, it is obvious he is the most mature of the three siblings. He wants to enter the same high school as his older twin step-sisters Ako and Riko, and to do so must study hard while getting help from his sisters as well as he was originally planning on relying on his track running scholarship for another school. While at first he initially dislikes himself for becoming attracted to Ako and Riko, he later becomes proactive in his desires. It is later revealed he was in love with his sisters when they were kids, and even used all of his money that he saved up for a prayer that he could marry both of them. This changed when he found out from his father that polygamy is illegal and "grew up". He is weak when it comes to alcohol, and will become livelier when he drinks, but after he sobers up he does not remember anything he did. After chapter eighteen of the manga, he makes it into his sisters' school Gakushū Senior High. Though he has strong morals, he is a pervert, as he will try to resist to the best he can but if pushed too far he will simply indulge in the moment.

Ako Suminoe (住之江 あこ, Suminoe Ako^?)

Ako is the elder twin sister. A way to tell her apart from Riko is that she wears a hair clip to keep the hair off her forehead. She has a reliable, level-headed personality, but can be sullen, moody, even a bit childish and is quickly embarrassed. She carries herself differently than her sister, is more skilled in cooking which she learned to help her mom out with the housework, and is strong with alcohol which she sometimes uses to her advantage to knock out Riko to have the livelier Keita all to herself. She is a closet pervert and more often planning her seduction of Keita. At school, she is on the school committee, but has a habit of abusing her authority to get Keita.

Riko Suminoe (住之江 りこ, Suminoe Riko^?)

Riko is the younger twin sister. A way to tell her apart from Ako is that she wears her hair in a ponytail, and is longer than her sister's hair. Also, she has a bandage below her left eye. She likes to do things at her own pace, and is more positive than Ako. She tends to be clumsy and is weak with alcohol. However, she is more proactive in tempting Keita to fall in love with her. She has a habit of answering bluntly, causing everyone else to jump to conclusions. She is much shyer in person than her sister, as she couldn't kiss Keita in front of others. At school, she is on the disciplinary committee, where she uses a bokken/shinai to punish the students and she has more of a strict personality, yet just like her sister will abuse her authority to get Keita.

Others

Miharu Mikuni (三国 美春, Mikuni Miharu^?)

A teenage girl that was introduced in chapter 18 where she returned Keita's acceptance letter when she found her dog trying to bury it in her yard. Out of a combination of stress from believing he didn't get in to the relief he found out he did get in, Keita hugs her out of the blue. After that action she has shown an attraction towards Keita, often blushing when they talk and feeling very comfortable when he hugs her, but overall states she has nothing to do with him (though it is obvious she is attracted to him, keeping her distance because of his sisters). It is noted from Keita that she has a bigger bust than his sisters when he recalls the first hug they shared. She is currently in Gakushū Senior High and in the same class as Keita. People often mistake her being involved with Keita and will most of the time become caught in the cross fire of many of the twins' antics (which she comments on in chapter 25). She is the only girl Keita gets nervous around, suggesting he might have feelings for her.

Mikazuki Kiryū (桐生 三日月, Kiryū Mikazuki^?)

She is an underclassman that is "chasing after him (Keita)". They were in the same sports club back at his old school. She is even more perverted than Ako and Riko when it comes to getting Keita's attention, with no qualms of flashing her privates at him in front of others. She is also a bit of an airhead, believing that Miharu and Keita are no longer virgins when she found them hugging.

Yūzuki Kiryū (桐生 夕月, Kiryū Yūzuki^?)

She is the new teacher to Gakushū Senior High and homeroom teacher to Keita and Miharu, who in an earlier chapter was a clothing store clerk because she liked western style clothing. Through bad timing and unaware that Keita and his sisters are not related by blood, she believes that he is a deviant who dates multiple girls while sleeping with his sisters. She becomes excited by her exaggerated ideas of what he and his sisters do at home or with other girls. Through these beliefs, she tries to recruit Miharu, believing she is one of the girls Keita is dating, to have them go on a date to separate him from his sisters. Shares the same surname with Mikazuki, but their relationship is unclear. She is a virgin and it is clear that she is not her mother. However, after clearing everything up, she starts to have growing feelings for Keita as well that goes to a lustful desire, practically raping his P.E. clothes as she is addicted to the scent of his sweat and fantasizing them having sex. She is a closet fujoshi (female otaku) with what appears to be a samurai fetish, and also likes to cosplay.

Other male students

They are usually seen around Keita stating how much they love his sisters and are jealous that he is their brother. They appear to be masochistic, as the sole reason they joined Gakushū Senior High was because they wanted to get punished by the twins like back when they were in middle school. One of them often says "Keita is so lucky" to the annoyance of the others.
